Shaykh Wasee-Ullaah is from the Major Scholars of the Sunnah of our time, and resides in the Blessed Land of Makkah.
The Shaykh, hafidhahullaah, has held a teaching chair in al-Masjid al-Haraam Makkah for over 16 years and his chair is located in the Mutaaf (the area of Tawaaf around the Ka’bah), between the doors of Baab al-Malik Fahd and Baab al-Umrah, where he continues to teach Sahih Al Bukhari in Arabic and General Lectures in Urdu, as well as other topics five days a week between the Maghrib and Ishaa prayers.
Shaykh Wasee-Ullah has studied with some of the most notable Shuyukh over the past 50 years, including Shaykh Abdul-Ghaffaar Hasan ar-Rehmaanee (rahimahullaah), Shaykh Abdul-Muhsin ibn Hamad al-Abbaad al-Badr (hafidhahullaah), Shaykh Saalih al-Araaqee (rahimahullaah), Shaykh Aboo Bakr al-Jazaa’iree (hafidhahullaah), Shaykh Hammaad al-Ansaaree (rahimahullaah) [d.1418H], Shaykh Abdul-Lateef (rahimahullaah) and Shaykh Taqee-ud-Deen al-Hilaalee (rahimahullaah).
Shaykh Wasee-Ullah was born in India and has spent the vast majority of his life seeking knowledge in Makkah and Madeenah. He acquired his Bachelors from Islamic University of Madeenah in the year 1968 and continued his higher studies in Makkah. He acquired his PhD from the Umm Al-Qura University of Makkah and has been teaching Tafseer, Principles of Tafseer, Hadeeth and Principles of Hadeeth to the PhD and M.A. students since 1979 at Umm Al-Qura University.
