Over the past two months CICT has been providing free kickboxing classes to the youth attending CICT masjid. Lessons are held in the masjid three times a week. Tuesdays and Thursdays for older Young Companions and on Sundays for the younger Young Companions! Classes are delivered by brother Ibrahim Walker the Young Companions Manager and qualified black belt kickboxing instructor. A full commitment is taken from all students to ensure regular attendance. The many benefits of these classes include: giving young people a productive way to release energy and keeping them off the street where they could get into trouble; keeping young people fit and healthy in a climate of obesity and laziness that has come about through the computer game culture; installing discipline into young people – teaching them self- control and the art of self-defence.
